How to get to Ljubljana by plane

All flights to and from Ljubljana are operated through the Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, which is located about 25 km northwest of the city centre (http://www.lju-airport.si/eng/vsebina.asp?IDM=94). Affordable flights to Slovenia are offered by the budget airline Easyjet, from London Stansted. Ljubljana is also close to several other airports served by various budget airlines such as Klagenfurt, Graz, Trieste, Zagreb and Rijeka.

When travelling by car don’t forget to apply a vignette sticker (if using Slovenia's motorway and highway system). Weekly vignettes are available for cars at 15€, they can be purchased at various sales points throughout the country.

Travel documents & visas

Foreign citizens can enter Slovenia with valid passport and a visa or residence permit, unless otherwise stipulated by law or international agreement. Slovenia is a part of the Schengen zone since 2007. EU/EEA citizens do not need a passport to enter Slovenia, only a valid identity card.

Participants are recommended to check if they need a visa to enter Slovenia.
If YES, please send us filled Letter of Guarantee to emabm2011@zag.si or to fax +386 1 2804 484 (with the reference EMABM2011). You will receive back verified document, which is the basis for your Slovenian visa application.
